Oh this will end well. I’m betting it’s gonna be angst and/or trauma.
I sort of assumed the orange streak was a natural part of Toivo’s hair (since he’s an elf whose hair might not necessarily conform to human genetics), but evidently not.

Honestly, selfies are a valid use for a Polaroid camera.
The sudden change from warm colors to dark blues…it’s so genius and shows how cold and unhappy that memory is. That’s so smart

Is there a reason to give the protagonist the name “Toivo” or do you just like the sound of it? It is a Finnish man’s name, with literal meaning: “Hope”. Not so popular now, but it was popular at the time there was a wave of Finnish immigration to America.
Yes, I picked it because it was a Finnish name that I liked! I also specifically picked it because of it’s meaning, and I was familiar with it. I grew up in a largely Finnish-American community so it’s a familiar name to me, and it’s just one that I liked.
