I’m not sure if this world has malicious objects in the strictest sense of the phrase; it’s difficult to judge if an object truly has a will of its own and does harm because it chooses to rather than because it must.
But such questions are unlikely to seem important if, for example, you get trapped inside of a crystal golem.
I love how Serule finds a way to complement Rosemary, while at the same time taking a dig at her father. True skill.
Also, I’ll say a prayer and send good vibes your way for your surgery! Take all the time you need to recover.

Toivo would recognise this. I don’t know how demonborn respond to purification rituals but Serule has Beast Disease, I think, and while there are no records suggesting the disease actually turns people into Beasts, this is still Very, Very Bad.
They had the cough before they studied the pendant blood artifact, but the black phlegm is less recent. This could be very bad for poor Serule.
