Why does this feel so off? It may just be my cynical side, but this situation seems too setup for me.
Just read the archives. Does Vivian count as a malicious artifact?
This is normal. So normal. Nothing off about this. No siree.
It appears that she has at least one Magical ability – the ability to sense the Magicka-Potentia of others, but she may not yet realise it. So perhaps her problem is one of method – to understand that this ability to sense Potentia and to help others realise it may be her Gift, and the method she needs different. It may never have occurred to her to actually *shape* the Potentia she has in herself and others. It may be that her Gift lies entirely in Sensing and Teaching, but this can still be a Gift.
The difficulty lies in understanding which Senses are Magical, which are not, the difference and the shaping of the Magical senses.
If the problem is one of no Magical Spark, no strength, then she may need to exercise her strength in this first. A Potentia-Stretching Exercise may assist.
Notice she said “I’ll never be able to use my own magic”. Her OWN magic.
She didn’t say she could not use ANY magic. Possibly using other peoples magic by, say, ripping it from their living souls and turning them into monsters to empower her spells?
